Winter Goddess

The Brief

Self-directed — no client brief.

My Approach

Continuing the same idea as Winter Goddess, a quick search confirmed the same scarcity of African American figures among seasonal goddess imagery, which led me to depict the harvest goddess as an African American woman as well.

My Role

Full concept and illustration.

Why It's Here

Pairs naturally with Winter Goddess as a two-piece series — together they make the representation angle a clear, intentional body of work rather than a one-off.

Harvest Goddess

The Brief

Self-directed — no client brief.

My Approach

I noticed, through my own research, a lack of African American representation among traditional seasonal goddess imagery. I set out to correct that gap directly by portraying the winter goddess as an African American woman.

My Role

Full concept and illustration.

Why It's Here

Original point of view, not a response to a brief — this is where your voice as an artist comes through most clearly, which matters for any portfolio that needs to show more than production work.

Atlanta Braves — Ozzie Go Fish Card Deck

The Brief

Design a Go Fish card deck for kids, with fully hand-illustrated fish characters.

My Approach

I illustrated each fish digitally by hand, developing a consistent character style across the full deck so the set felt cohesive as a designed product, not just a series of individual graphics.

My Role

Full hand illustration and deck design.

Why It's Here

Applies your illustration skill to a physical, branded product rather than a flat social graphic — a useful pairing of two skills that don't often show up together in one piece.
